The
Words She Wrote
By
Jim Hoskins
My
Grandmother came for a visit today.
She
told of a time that was far away.
She
told of her children, whom she loved so dear.
She
told of her garden, and the streams that were near.
She
told of the wild flowers that grew all around;
Of
the birds and the peace, and the joy she had found.
Her
life wasn’t easy, but her words seemed to say;
She
was happy with the trials that were sent towards her way.
Her
words were like candy to a very small child.
I
listened to each one and we visited for a while.
I
wished we had met but she has long passed away.
But
through the things that she wrote we visited today.
